Write each entry as a complete choice
Include the item name, direct product link, required size or dimensions and selected colour where those details matter. For dog equipment, use your current measurements and the exact maker's chart. For clothing, distinguish the desired garment size from a general preference. A link alone may open with a default option that differs from the one you intended. Open the saved link in a fresh window to check which option another person will initially see.
Explain what is essential and what can vary. You may need a particular phone-case model but be happy with several illustrations, or need a specific insert size while leaving the cushion colour open. Use plain notes such as 'this size is required' and 'any of these colours.' Avoid describing every preference as mandatory when a simpler alternative would serve the same purpose.
If an item is personalised, include verified wording or state that you want to approve the details first. Do not place private information in a broadly shared list. A portrait commission can be listed as a contribution or a project to choose together rather than a purchase another person must brief entirely on your behalf.
Make the list easy to maintain
Keep a small range of items at different total costs, including delivery and essential accessories. Note whether a frame, insert or other component is included so the giver does not have to discover it. Do not describe an unavailable item as an exact requirement without offering a way to ask you about an alternative.
Choose a way to mark an item as arranged without exposing surprise gifts to everyone, if the list tool supports it. If using a simple shared document, agree who updates it and remove fulfilled entries promptly. Check links and selected options occasionally. A short current list is more helpful than a long list full of old products and conflicting notes.
Leave room for someone to choose no item or a different kind of gesture. A wish list is information, not an invoice. If you receive something that needs fitting or a final design decision, handle that step yourself where possible. Keeping the list clear about flexible choices makes the eventual gift easier for both people.
