Measure your normal contents
Place the items you expect to carry together: notebook, water bottle, small shopping purchases or dog-walking supplies. Measure the largest rigid object and compare it with the tote's opening and usable internal dimensions. A wide flat bag without a gusset may hold bulky items differently from a narrower bag with depth. Do not judge capacity from a photograph of an empty tote hanging flat.
Check the handle drop and how you intend to carry it. A strap that fits over a light shirt may be awkward over a winter coat. Think about whether the loaded bag will hang against your hip or need to be carried in your hand. If the opening has a zip or fastener, look at how much of the stated width remains accessible when it is open.
Separate anything damp, crumbly or sharp from clean fabric and paper. An inner pocket can be useful for keys, but confirm its size and closure before treating it as secure storage. If the tote will carry dog supplies, plan a washable separate container for used items. A breed illustration does not make an ordinary shopping tote a dedicated carrier for a dog.
Read the decoration and care as a pair
Look at the print placement on both sides and identify whether the reverse is plain. Check how much of the dog remains visible when the bag is filled and creased. A close-up of the artwork cannot show the complete handle attachment or base seam, so request those views if the listing omits them. Compare construction information with the actual intended load rather than inferring strength from fabric colour.
Read the fibre content and exact washing instructions. Printful's care guidance varies by decorated product; use the instructions for the tote you buy. Ask whether washing can affect dimensions and whether the item must be dried flat or in another particular way. A bag used for errands needs a care method that you can carry out after a spill.
Keep the selected size and artwork version in the order record, especially when several similar designs appear in one listing. On arrival, check seams, handles and the closure before filling it. Try the normal contents indoors while retaining packaging required for a return. A useful comparison ends with the loaded shape, not just a pleasing graphic laid flat.
